The Benjamin Franklin International School was founded in 1986 by visionary parents with a dream. That dream was to create a school in Barcelona that combined the best of three elements - an authentic American education, a diverse student population, and the superb cultural opportunities that abound in Barcelona.

We continue to share that dream and work hard every day to perfect the school and the education. Our student body reflects a genuine balance of American, Spanish/Catalan, and other international students. Benjamin Franklin is a small international school with approximately 400 students from Nursery to Grade 12 . The school offers students two diplomas: the American High School Diploma and the Spanish Bachillerato. BFIS prepares students to attend universities in the United States, Spain and worldwide.
