Think of Emails as Conversations
BFIS Connex E-mail groups all replies with their original message, creating a single conversation, or a thread. In other e-mail systems, responses appear as separate messages in your inbox, forcing you to wade through all your mail to follow the conversation. In BFIS Connex, all replies are displayed in one place, in order, making it easier to understand the context of a message or to follow the conversation. When you open one message in a conversation, all of your related messages will be stacked neatly on top of each other, with the newest message always at the top. Since BFIS Connex groups all messages into conversations or threads, if you delete a reply, you're deleting the entire message conversation, including the original one you sent. That's why it's important to label and archive messages.

Label and Archive
Google uses labels instead of folders and subfolders to organize your mail more effectively. Labels work like folders but have added benefits. You can add more than one label to an e-mail conversation, allowing it to be stored in multiple places without actually duplicating the message. After labeling a message or conversation, remove it from your inbox by archiving it. Then, you can view archived messages by clicking All Mail, or by clicking the label name along the left side of any page.

DON'T DELETE!!!
Now that you have more than 7,253 megabytes of storage, we recommend that you archive messages rather than delete them. Once a message is deleted, it's gone for good. Archiving moves messages out of your inbox and into All Mail (your new archive), keeping your inbox tidy without deleting anything. You also can find archived messages under any labels you've applied or by searching your mail. When someone responds to a message you've archived, the conversation containing that message will reappear in your inbox. When you're positive you won't need a message, use the delete button. Deleted messages are removed permanently from your trash after 30 days.

Know Your Limits
In an effort to fight spam and prevent abuse, Google will temporarily disable your account if you send a message to more than 500 recipients or if you send a large number of undeliverable messages. Your account should be re-enabled within 24 hours. It's worth noting that other e-mail clients, such as Microsoft Outlook or Apple Mail, limit the number of recipients of a single e-mail message to 100.

Watch the Attachment Sizes
With Gmail, you can send and receive messages up to 20 megabytes (MB) in size. Even if your attachment is just under that, you could exceed the limit if the text of your e-mail pushes the size of the overall message over 20MB. It's also important to remember that some recipients outside the BFIS network may not be able to receive large attachments.

Move Legitimate Mail Out of Spam
Gmail has an extremely powerful spam filter, but occasionally a legitimate message might get caught. If this happens, just select the message, and click "Not Spam" along the top of your Spam label. Unmarking a message moves it to your inbox. If you find that some senders' messages consistently are being mislabeled as spam, you can prevent this by adding their email addresses to your contacts list. Gmail will deliver messages from members of your contacts list directly to your inbox, unless they meet certain criteria.

Remember Messages Sent to Groups Don't Hit Your Inbox
When you send a message to any mailing list that includes your e-mail as a recipient, Gmail automatically skips your inbox and archives the message to save you time and prevent clutter. The message will appear in your inbox if someone responds or if there is an error delivering the message. If you'd like to view your message, you can find it in Sent Mail or All Mail.
